# LOCAL

> LOCAL ("Discover Local. Live Local.") is a hyperlocal super-app for Bihar, India that connects customers with trusted local businesses and independent providers. It brings four marketplaces together — Services, Food, Rentals and Properties/Products — plus jobs, NGOs, civic issue reporting and insurance, in one app.

LOCAL is a technology platform that facilitates discovery, communication and booking between customers and independent local providers. Unless stated otherwise, the underlying product or service is provided by the respective independent Provider; LOCAL does not own provider inventory and is not a party to the underlying transaction. Prices, availability, cancellation terms and delivery are set by each provider.

## What LOCAL offers
- **Services**: Book verified local professionals — plumbing, electrical, cleaning, AC repair, carpentry, painting, pest control, salon and more, with fair reference rates.
- **Food**: Order from local home kitchens and food providers.
- **Rentals**: Rent vehicles and equipment from local providers.
- **Properties**: Buy, rent or lease homes, plots and commercial spaces, with district/locality filters and exact map locations.
- **Shopping / Mini Stores**: Buy products from independent local stores.
- **Work & Learn**: Discover local jobs and tuition/coaching.
- **NGOs & Civic**: Find and support NGOs; report and track civic/social issues.
- **Insurance**: Request insurance guidance and expert callbacks.

## Coverage & languages
- Primary area served: **Bihar, India** (districts include Patna, Muzaffarpur, Gaya, Vaishali, Saran, Gopalganj, Bhagalpur, Nalanda, Darbhanga, Begusarai). Expanding across India.
- Languages: English and Hindi (हिन्दी).

## How it works
- Customers browse or search, view provider profiles with ratings, exact location on a map, and contact via Call/WhatsApp or in-app enquiry/booking.
- Providers and businesses are onboarded (often via field "onboarders") with a one-time Platform Onboarding & Activation Fee; listings go live after admin approval.
- Accounts: sign in with Google, email + password, or a one-time email code (OTP).
