This policy explains how LOCAL collects, uses, stores and protects your personal data, in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP) and the Information Technology Act, 2000.

1. Data we collect

• Account data: name, phone, email, and login/OTP metadata.
• Location data: approximate (IP‑based) or precise (with your permission) location, used to show nearby services.
• Usage data: device, app version, log and diagnostic information.
• Transaction data: bookings/enquiries you initiate and platform‑fee payment records.

2. How we use it

To operate the Platform, connect you with Providers, personalise discovery by location, provide support, prevent fraud/abuse, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell your personal data.

3. Sharing

We share data with a Provider only to the extent needed to fulfil an enquiry/booking you initiate, and with service vendors (e.g. hosting, payments, messaging) under confidentiality. We may disclose data where required by law.

4. Storage & security

Data is stored on secured infrastructure with reasonable technical and organisational safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

5. Your rights (DPDP)

You may access, correct, or request deletion of your data, and withdraw consent, via Profile → Privacy or the in‑app Grievance channel. You may also nominate/erase as permitted by law.

6. Retention

We keep data only as long as necessary for the purposes above or as required by law, after which it is deleted or anonymised.
